Mariana has been working as an acupuncturist and Chinese herbalist since 2016, when she graduated from Middlesex University. She also gained a Master’s degree in 2017. Her extensive acupuncturist training included classic and electric Acupuncture, prescription of Chinese medicinal herbs, cupping, and Tui na massage. The course was highly hands-on, with hundreds of hours of clinical experience. Training took place in hospital pain clinics, a specialised teaching clinic, and a community service for patients recovering from addictions.

Although her official training is finished (for now), education never truly stops for a health practitioner. Mariana continues to attend CPD courses and to follow latest research papers. Most recent seminars include:

  • Traditional diagnosis in Chinese medicine
  • Acupuncture for repeated miscarriage and menopause
  • Acupuncture for Fertility and IVF support

Since graduation, Mariana has been working in private practices across Central and South London. Discovering her passion for women’s health, fertility and musculoskeletal acupuncture has motivated her to keep on educating herself. Mariana aims to welcome every patient with compassion and kindness, while giving them the most effective treatments possible. As a result, she has been collecting many success stories of patients whom she helped achieve their goals.

Mariana is a member of the British Acupuncture Council (BAcC). It is an organisation that regulates the practice of their members and ensures that they perform at a high standard. BAcC also has a strict code for safety and professional practice. In short, a membership with the BAcC ensures that the acupuncturist you are seeing is a qualified and highly competent practitioner.

Before the current pandemic, Mariana worked as a volunteer acupuncturist at the Grenfell site. Her job there was to deliver treatments to people affected by anxiety, PTSD, and insomnia. She strongly believes in the importance of giving back, planning to return to volunteering as soon as possible. Mariana has an avid interest in exercise and nutrition and enjoys sharing tips with her patients, family and friends. In her spare time, she enjoys hiking, tennis, and playing the ukulele.
